Sci-Fi Horror Nightmare Dream on the Arturia PolyBrute - A Bank of 37 Presets

This bank of 37 presets takes a deep dive into sounds that evoke feelings like wonder, relaxation, awe, nostalgia, fear, aggression, suspense, and many others.

I researched movie and tv soundtracks from the 70s to present day, found the ones that I liked, and used them to influence the sound design process of these patches. Though, none of these are recreations of those sounds. These are imaginings that bring similar images and emotions to the listener.

I've added AI generated art with each sound demo to show you what these sounds made me think of at the time. Keep in mind, each preset is capable of more than what I've demonstrated. Check out the demo on YouTube by visiting the following link:

I've done my best to provide a short experience of each sound to give you an idea of what it can do. But you really have to play them to hear and feel the whole experience.

Each preset has been carefully crafted to be immersive and to use the full control capabilities of the PolyBrute (A/B morph for all presets, assigned use of the Morphee, touch strip, and aftertouch).

You will hear some retro influences in some of these presets, some lofi sounds, some modern sounds, but all patches are dynamic and expressive thanks to the PolyBrute's matrix, control, and effects routing.

Cinematic is definitely a common thread with these sounds. Picture how you feel when you watch a sci-fi movie scene where an epic camera angle is accompanied by a lush synth arpeggio that changes timbre over time. Or the creepy edge-of-your-seat feeling in a thriller/horror when the lofi piano music cues and you know something's gonna get weird. Or what about a retro fantasy movie from the 80s/90s that has a dreamy synth pad playing during an epic scene? That's what I've tried to make with this bank of presets.

This bank is made for the PolyBrute 6 voice hardware but it will also work on the PolyBrute 12.

Installation instructions using the .PBX file:

1. Downolad the "PolyBrute - SciFiNightmareHorrorDream.pbx" file.
2. Open PolyBrute Connect.
3. Click on "PolyBrute Connect" at the top left of the main window.
4. Select "Import" and navigate to the location where you saved the .PBX file.
5. Select the PolyBrute - SciFiNightmareHorrorDream.pbx and click "Open".
6. Now, when you navigate to the Preset Browser within PolyBrute Connect, you can use the User bank filters to find the 37 presets in this bank.
7. Please let me know if you experience any problems loading the presets.
